I am more of a baker than a cook and I prefer chicken to beef but this
Root Beer BBQ Ribs is one recipe that I just have to share. It came from one of the Taste of Home
recipe books I bought at the grocery store. I checked their website and it is
no longer posted. The credit goes to Mairyn S. from Sandy, Utah…so thanks
Mairyn. The secret is the root beer as it soaks into the ribs while slow
cooking and give them a fantastic taste.
Here is what you will need…
Mosty I measure but do adlib at time
1 cup root beer
1 cup ketchup
¼ cup orange juice
3 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 Tablespoons molasses
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon paprika
4-1/2 pounds pork baby back ribs
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
In a small saucepan, combine the first 10 ingredients. Bring to a boil
over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes or until
the sauce is reduced to 2 cups. Set aside.
Cut
ribs in five serving-size pieces; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place in a 5
or 6 quart slow cooker. I always spray
the inside of the crock pot with PAM
Pour sauce over the ribs.
Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until the meat is tender.
Serve with the sauce
Enjoy!!!
