For the Love of Snow

Blog Challenge #24

We have gotten our share of snow this season. Not a lot if you are comparing it to the northern states but a lot for us. I love snow. Even though I have to drive to work in it I still love to see it falling from the sky. One of my favorite things to do is sit in front of a fireplace while watching the snow fall. Surrounded by family of course (and maybe even some comfort food.....shhhhhh!). As all children love snow mine were not different. Not only was it the hope of school closing but of being able to sleigh ride. Still to this day I pay close attention to school closing even though those days are long gone. It puts a smile on my face just knowing how happy the kids will be to hear those three wonderful words...."School Is Closed".  Even though my kids are no longer young I get to experience the joy of snow through my granddaughter. Recently my son-in-law took her out sleigh riding and my daughter (a professional photographer) took these wonderful photos. I hope they bring a smile to your face. Enjoy!!

PS...the last photo is one I took when my kids were little and had the day off from school due to snow. The youngest is missing from the photo because he wasn't born yet. My daughter (Lucy's Mom) is in the middle.

Dogs have birthdays too!

That's right...dogs have birthdays too. Unfortunately for my little four legged girl, we forgot hers. To make up for this I am dedicating a blog post to our precious little Buttons for her 6th (or 8th or 9th) birthday which was on January 2nd.

One Person I'm Glad I Met

"NICOLE CURTIS"

Last winter Lucy and I had the opportunity to meet Nicole Curtis as a home show in a nearby city. She was exactly like you see on TV. High energy and passionate about preserving old home. It was like talking with an old friend. If you ever get the chance to meet her take it, you won't be sorry. Especially if you love old homes.

If you haven't seen her show, Rehab Addict, you should check it out.

My daughter would invite...
Cal Ripken, Jr.
...to talk about what it was like to play baseball for the
Orioles while working alongside his dad and brother.

I would invite...

and of course...
Lucy would invite...
Dora

Ok, I have not posted for a week. Not a good way to do a blog challenge huh? To try and catch up I will use some of the suggestions from Kinderchat and some I just made up. So here goes....

My very favorite article of clothing
 Scarves
I love scarves. Cotton and Nylon. As a matter of fact I recently posted a blog showing how I hang (and display) some of my scarves in my new boudior, (click here). Yes, I have more that are made of nylon that I keep in a plastic box. I wear some sort of scarf almost every day. In the winter I wear them to keep warm even with my coat off. In the summer I usually wear the nylon scarves to spruce up my outfit with a bit of color...especially the work black clothes, (you know the ones ;)

Here you can find 9 Ways to Wear a Scarf  from Amy at A Blossoming Life:
9 Ways to Tie a Scarf
Another cool idea, especially for winter scarves:
 Watch these on youtube:
